Creating a Course

  1. From the SmartSolve Portal Page, click the Home tab at the top of the window.
  2. In the Training Management section of the list, select Create Course.
  3. Zoom to select the course type and click Next. For additional information on configuration, see Course Types.
  4. Enter information in the following fields:
Field Description

Type

This information defaults from the previous window.

Title

Enter the name of the course.

Is Online

Check this checkbox if the course will be available online.

Credit Hours

Enter the number of credit hours that the course is worth.

Duration

Specify the length of the course. Select the appropriate time interval, such as days or weeks, from the drop down list.

Fee

Enter the fee to be charged for the course.

Training Number Scheme

Zoom to select the numbering scheme to be used for all training sessions created for the course. For additional information on configuration, see Numbering Schemes.

Graded, Maximum Score, Pass Score

These fields are only for use for courses without assessments.

  • Graded - Check this checkbox if you want all course grades to be entered manually (courses with assessments are automatically graded).
  • Maximum/Minimum Score - Enter numerical value for the scores.

Minimum Enrollment, Maximum Enrollment

Enter the minimum and maximum enrollment allowed. The trainer may override this number in the training session.

Description

Enter a description of the course.

Requirement for Trainer, Default Trainer

Zoom to select the requirement needed by the trainer and default trainer to be able to teach this course. What is selected here controls who appears as a qualified trainer.

Default Trainer

Zoom to select the default trainer for the course. The zoom button displays the following:

  • Qualified Trainers - Displays all individuals qualified to teach the course.
  • All Active Actors - Displays all active actors.

Agenda

Zoom to select the agenda for the course. If and agenda is selected here, then the agenda will be available for viewing within the Course Detail.

Online Information

Specify the relevant information needed when an individual takes the course online.

  1. Click the Save button.
    Result: The course has been added.
